i'll have some pancakes..on the rocks

last night was a blast! i went out with all the new intake students for 2012 & we went to a place called pancakes on the rocks. they had crazy inventive pancakes, but i just stuck to old fashion buttermilk with some chocolate shavings on the side. they were DELICIOUS & very filling. after are tummies were full of goodness, we headed over to the sydney opera house to see it at night. on our walk over i got to get to know more & more people. everyone is so awesome & really genuine! we got over to the opera house & it was beautiful. i saw once before, but at night it was all lit up. also the sydney harbour bridge is amazing at night. the whole time i was standing in front of these well known land marks, i kept thinking THIS IS REAL LIFE..THIS IS MY LIFE! it is so insane that i am here in sydney! who gets to do this? i do! & it's all apart of God's plan for me.

city slickaaa

today i went into the city on george st. it is an amazing street filled with retail stores & awesome street style. this was my first time going by myself. this morning i popped onto the bus & headed to george st. i got off & just started walking, for i didn't REALLY know where i was. i walked & walked & then i found a shopping centre. when i packed for my venture in the morning, i decided to throw some resumes into my bag just in case. in the centre i found this adorable shop called SEED. while i was awing at all the clothes i dropped a resume & found this white blouse that i fell in love with!

i love sydney fashion! it's super trendy but also really relaxed. this morning was an awesome adventure & the day isn't over yet...

& I am finally here!

i have been in sydney for a week now! & i am in love with it. when i first arrived i went through customs with four HUGE bags & doing this by myself was harsh. when i finally got through customs, i was exstatic. i took a look around the airport, walked outside, and thought OH MY THIS IS MY NEW HOME! i waited for my ride to come pick me up from outside.. the cool breeze felt so nice! i was sweating after that challenge of going through customs with bags up to my ears. then my ride came! i hopped into the car & almost went to the wrong side of the car, because i was so turned around. once we drove off i put on my music & the song PARADISE from COLDPLAY came on & it was a perfect moment. i looked all around me as we drove, but it didn't seem that odd to me. it felt normal that i was there. since my arrival i have been loving sydney! i love the people! i love the food! & i love how you can walk most places! its going to be a amazing two years.

one month mark.

today is the one month count down until i head to sydney. i want to give you some background on how this journey came to be...so i started going to a new church this time last year called newport church. the pastors are aussies & came from hillsong. basically, i attended a church service on a sunday morning & the message was on the call of God. the pastor kept saying the call of God, the desires of your heart, passions, etc. then i got this thought of how maybe i am meant to go to hillsong to learn all that i can about God & experience unbelievable life-changing things. i left it as just a thought for awhile. & then subsequently to the last sunday morning service, the pastor asked everyone if they were going to answer the call of God & if so to stand. at that moment i felt this amazing rush flow through my body & knew at that second i was meant  to go hillsong college.& now i am answering the call that God has bestowed on my heart.

day one of thirty-nine

on the first day of december...i emptied out my closet & sorted through all my clothes.i left a good sized dent in my closet & have many lonely hangers. i divided my clothes into three piles labeled "going with" "selling" & "donate." after my organizing i dropped off my "donate" pile at the goodwill & while i was there i found this kind of amazing skirt for only $5.48!!! so of course i bought it. 

i love a good bargain these days! i used pay full price for all my belongings, but then i started working at crossroads trading co (a buy sell trade) & it taught me how to get amazing things for an amazing price $$$ :) now that i have some organization with my moving process it's getting really real to me that i am leaving! i love it.

& the count down begins

40 days till i am off to sydney, australia & i cannot wait. i am so excited to start this new season of life & just experience life in another country. i will be attending hillsong international college & will be at the city campus. it is going to be an awesome adventure. i have about a month to get ready to go. tomorrow will be day one of packing & sorting through all my belongings. i have a feeling i will be selling most of my things. before i leave i want to make a scrapbook with some pictures from home & take some new pictures with friends & family. i have lots & lots to do!
